THE ACORN CIRCLE
Taproots
An Invitation to Elders

If you are entering the elder season of your life — with love, with gratitude, and with something to pass on — this invitation is for you.
What We Are Forming
The Acorn Circle is gathering a community of elders — grandparents in the wider sense, whose long lives have given them something this community needs, and who are ready to offer it in good company.
The circle is organized around the grandparent trees: the ancient ones of this landscape who anchor our work with children, families, and the broader community. They are named grandparents because they hold what grandparents hold — long memory, steady presence, the patience of having stayed.
Why Elders, Why Now?
Isolation is the particular ache of our age, and it is shared most acutely by children and by elders. Bringing them into relationship is mutually healing — and structurally necessary. The kind of perspective only a long life can give has become rare in the open. The Acorn Circle exists, in part, to make a place where this sharing can return.
And there is something more. In the long traditions, the later chapters of a life are not its diminishment but its harvest — the time of weaving what you carry into the lives of those still arriving. To live these years with love and gratitude is itself an offering. To share what you carry is to take your full place in the web of life. The web has never needed you more.
The first gathering
The first gathering of the Elder Core is being convened now, here in Idyllwild. It will be simple: a circle, the land, time to meet one another, and time to begin shaping together what this becomes.
No prior experience is needed. You only need to be ready to step into the eldership that is already yours.
